The main element of this project is a 3,022-foot cast-in-place segmental bridge in mountainous terrain that carries the Mon-Fayette Expressway over the Monongahela River. The bridge includes a 518-foot main span consisting of dual-cell box girders. The seven-span structure has piers ranging in height from 100 feet to 206 feet and includes more than seven million pounds of reinforcing steel.
